Do peer reviews work?

One of my teacher friends used to tell me that peer reviews were a waste of time.

And, if you've tried them, you may agree that students rarely have the skills to give useful reviews to their classmates.

But they can learn!

When your students learn to peer review effectively, your assessing and re-assessing will go down.
