Lesson Plan of the week

We have an extra day!

Your students will love learning about Leap Day and our calendar.

Hi Reader,

What's better than ticking off the days until it's okay -- and actually acceptable -- to eat a bag of Dove chocolate heart candies?

But what's even better is enjoying that chocolate because your lesson plans for the whole month of February are finished.

Yup. Done for you -- so you can get back to the important stuff -- like figuring out which one of those Russell Stover chocolates is filled with cherry jelly 🤢.

You can grab editable lesson plans plus all the resources that go with it right here.

That means no planning for the entire month of February.

Your students will be:

  • responding to warm ups / bell ringer journal with quirky celebrations, historical events, holidays, and quotes.
  • completing a Groundhog Day mini research project
  • engaging in a Valentine's Day vocabulary activity & creative writing
  • digging into a Valentine's Day mini research project
  • learning about the "big game" with a Super Bowl mini research project
  • choosing tasks with a Choice/ Bingo board
  • learning about Presidents' Day with a mini research project
  • Plus you'll get a February scavenger hunt (a fun activity for the end of the month -- or alternative to a Valentine's Day Party).

This February Lesson Plan Bundle is on sale through the end of the month, so if this is something you'd like, be sure to grab it.

And, just in case no one has told you this recently, you are AMAZING and WONDERFUL because you are teaching middle school students! 💖

With gratitude for all you do,

Marypat

Just a note From Just Add Students Lesson Plan of the week Study Skills for Success Start the year with the study skills your students need to succeed! Find this here Hi Reader, Will you be teaching writing next year -- or are you teaching it now? It seems like it should be easier to teach -- but formulas and systems that are touted to be easy and effective usually are neither! Believe me, I've tried every which way -- and didn't find success until I embraced a simplified version of writer's...

Just a note From Just Add Students Lesson Plan of the week Easy Journaling Find it here Hi Reader, I recently participated in a "100 Day Project." The idea is to pick something you want to do -- and do it every day for 100 days. (You really need to read this article and share it with your students!) While the project was originally designed for graphic artist students, it's been adopted by droves of people who do all kinds of things for 100 days. So here's an idea: Try it yourself! One...
